Subgrid command button and PowerFX trigger Power Automate in Dataverse or Dynamics 365
You can add command buttons to Subgrid Command bar for an entity. For some business requirement, you can also call a JS or PowerFX on the command button click which will trigger a power automate. This post will explain a business scenario to do thi.
The Scenario
There are 3 entities Investment, Contact and Nominees. The below relationships are exist.
Investment (N) – Contact (1), Investment (1) – Nominees(N), Contact (1) – Nominees(N)
The Nominees view is used as a Sub-grid on Investment form. The investment form looks like below.
The requirement are given below :
- Add a command button on Nominees subgrid.
- The command should only be visible if at-least one record is selected from sub-grid using powerfx.
- On clicking of the command it should update a column as Yes for all selected row using powerfx.
- call a Power Automate to send an email for each records updated column as Yes.
