[Step-by-Step] Enable & Configure Metadata Filters for Entity List in Power Portal for Products
We can enable filters for our Entity List in Portal like Shopping sites. Let us see how we can do this. We are going to build a filter like below.
STEP:1 – Create a View in Power Apps for the Product Table
Login Power Apps and select your correct environment, Now select Dataverse and choose Tables. Search Product and select Views. Add a new View called as Portal Products and add required fields to the views then publish it.
STEP:2 – Create a List in Portal Management App and Enable Metadata Filters
Open Portal Management model driven App and select Lists. Create a new List and give a List name and select Product from table dropdown. For me its product table and view is Portal Products which we have created in step 1.
Now scroll down the List record to find out Metadata filters. Click Enabled Checkbox. Choose Orientation as Vertical (AS of your choice). Give Apply Button Label as “Apply Filter“.
Now click on Filters and select + Text Filter. You can add below Filters.
- Text Filter
- Attribute Filter Set
- Lookup Set
- Range Filter Set
- Dynamic Picklist Set
- Dynamic Lookup Set
- FetchXML Filter
Let us choose Text Filter. Select Attribute Name and Display name. Like that add a Attribute Filter set and choose Product type. It will automatically add the options as Dropdown or Checkbox or Radio button as per your selection.
The screen will look like as below after adding all filter as mentioned above. Then SAVE the List.
STEP:3 – Display the List in Portal Studio Web Page
Open Power Portal Studio and select the Web page where you want to display the list. Add a List control and select the List we have created y using Existing List.
NOTE : Before doing the above step click on Sync Configuration.
Now click on Browse Website to see the list in action.
Now you can choose options and click Apply Filter to see result.
